Colour daydreaming

Ah some pretty colours as we head into the misty days :) Don’t you just want to lounge here with a glass of lemonade and a good book?

We found this beauty on Joy Cho’s amazing “Colour” Pinterest board - you should check out her other goodies too :)

Anita & Ulrich’s natural invitations

We really get to work with the most wonderful people!

The lovely Anita and Ulrich (all the way from New York) were so full of enthusiasm and creative input that we got happily swept away with their ideas of a whimsical and natural South African wedding. Think loose illustrations, proteas and beautiful fynbos colours…happiness.

Being the hands-on creative couple that they are we designed their lovely stationery for them and then they hand silkscreened their own goodies! And wow, did they turn out beautifully?! And that envelope liner – sigh! We wish we could take credit for that too ;)

We love how the whole package came together. Their set included the silkscreened invitation, a tri-fold itinerary and illustrated map pamphlet, and a silkscreened RSVP card that had its very own little envelope with the beautiful calligraphy return address stamp on it!

We can’t wait to see their beautiful wedding photos that the incredible welovepictures team took! We’ll be sure to put a few up when they’re ready so keep popping by to check :)

Our besties got married!

Oh dear Swan friends, today’s post is an extra special one. At Seven Swans our motto is to “add a bit of love” in absolutely everything we do, but if this post was a cup of tea, where we usually add a teaspoon of sugar, this one would have 3.

Because today I get to do a blog post about two of our very dearest friends. We hold these two people so close to our hearts, it almost hurts. Sharing their special day on our blog is such a honour.

Their story goes something like this: young architect moves from Gauteng to a wonderful small city where he can walk to work and stop at the baker for a bite on his way. Girl moves away from her beloved platteland to a city that inspires dreams and life. They meet, they fall in love and fall deeper in love with Cape Town. That is what the Mother City will do to you.

So it is no surprise that Ronel & Jaco would celebrate their love, in their beloved Mother City and that they would even boast with her a little to the guests that came from far away. Have a look at the invitations we designed for them here.

Their vows were said in the beautiful Methodist Church on Greenmarket Square with wild African drumming that hummed in the background just to remind us exactly where we were.

After the ceremony guest got into taxis that dropped them off in Lower Bree for post ceremony toasts and snacks at Friedas (what a lovely spot!). Another trip with a taxi, to Savoy Cabbage for the best reception I have ever been lucky enough to experience. Amazing service, the best food and wine, almost all of my favourite people in the world in one room, chatting, dancing, singing, smiling. It was something special.

Jaco & Ronel, may this day be the day in your life that you love each other the least. May you carry the promises you made on this day in your heart and may you grow deeper in love with each other and the city, every day. Love you both so very much.

Thank you Nudge for taking such lovely photos. See the full post here

Watercolour delight for Miné & Mauritius

The past wedding season we fell in love with watercolour washes over and over again! And how fun to even create a cute little illustration of Miné & Mauritius’ magical proposal in a poplar plantation for their special save the date.
