Trending - watercolour

With the 2012/2013 wedding season having just finished, we thought to do a quick round up of some trends. We will have another post tomorrow, so hop on over again!

We have adored working with soft, whimsical washes of watercolour. It is just such a subtle touch which really gives that handmade feeling to even electronic save the dates and invitations. Have a look at these samples from the past season.

Swan Love - hot pink and gold

My not-so-secret invitation dream is creating a typographic card with sparkly gold foil on hot pink paper. Oh universe, is that so difficult?

Soooo, in honour of this obsession, and with the hope that the universe will send me a client to make this happen, I made a Swan Love for you to swoon over. What do you think?

One December - Kelly & Grant got married

A few months ago we posted Kelly & Grants wedding invitations - it was one of my favourite sets from last year with its elegant letterpress pocket, simple typography and slick black envelopes.

I knew their wedding would be breathtaking, so I am very excited to finally be posting their wedding day photos taken by Du Wayne.

Kelly & Grant wanted an elegant, timeless wedding but added touches of drama and fun. As Kelly walked down the aisle, a recording of her as a little girl played where her dad asks her about her favourite colour. She couldn’t choose between pink and yellow, so on the wedding day, these fun colours popped out in unexpected places. We just adore it!

That bouquet is amazing, isn’t it!

Pretty Blog DIY - easy template e-invites

At Seven Swans we really REALLY love paper goodies! But even we can see that sometimes quick and cost effective digital is the way to go. But just because something is quick doesn’t mean it can’t be pretty too!

We’ve made some interchangeable email headers and footers for you to use to pretty up your emails – yay! Now it’s easy to send a lovely invite for birthdays, engagements, baby showers, kitchen teas or even just to make a little bit more out of having the girls over for cake!

Hop on over to The Pretty Blog to download the headers and footers for free!

Colour daydreaming

Ah some pretty colours as we head into the misty days :) Don’t you just want to lounge here with a glass of lemonade and a good book?

We found this beauty on Joy Cho’s amazing “Colour” Pinterest board - you should check out her other goodies too :)
