Sparkle & Blush

Our dear friend, Gaby from SouthBound Bride dreamt up an amazing way to bring the beautiful moodboards she creates for her blog to life. Together with the team from Invitation Gallery they decided to do a SouthBound Bride range consisting of a whole stationery set(save the dates to seating charts and thank you cards) based on some of her favourite mood boards.

We jumped at the chance to create pretties for the awesome Sparkle & Blush board. And yay yay yay for us, since our stationery was then used for a styled shoot SouthBound Bride did together with be.loved which has been featured in two magazines. The absolute cherry on top, was when this shoot was featured on Wedding Chicks! EEK!

Browse a few images here, but then hop on over to SouthBound bride as we decided to give some printables too. You can have any of these lovelies for your own wedding… just click here.

Sarie Bride shoot with The Pretty Blog

How lucky are we to have been part of this amazing shoot The Pretty Blog styled for one of South Africa’s best bridal magazines, Sarie Bride.

The shoot is just beautiful and filled to the brim with romance. We loved filling in some spaces with printing on soft satin ribbon and loads of calligraphy lovelies. Nicola did an amazing job and we were blessed to work alongside inspiring wedding suppliers. Christine Meintjes took the amazing photos. View more over here or get the latest Sarie Bride. Also, if you want a good giggle at my sillyness, check 00:29 of the video over on The Pretty Blog ;)

You and Your Wedding magazine feature

YAY for our work being in a British magazine! ;) It was big smiles when Gabi from SouthBound Bride let us know that our stationery set, Sparkle & Blush from the Invitation Gallery was to be featured in a pretty shoot that Gabi together with Louise from b.loved weddings styled. Lots of happy dances when this shoot was chosen to be featured in You and Your Wedding Magazine!

The stationery set can be ordered really quick and easy from here.

SouthBound Bride

I have something just a bit different to show you today (and I am so excited to do so! EEK!)

You see, we have this dear friend of ours, Gaby. Now Gaby runs this beautiful wedding blog (it used to be called Cap Classique, but more about this in a minute!) and we have been admirers of her well, right from the very very start. But that is not why this is wow, because this has nothing to do with the fact that we like to believe we have a good eye for something great ;) …. no, this is a huge big shout out to a very special person. Gaby is a selfless blogger who’s passion for sharing beauty, showcasing talent and creating platforms for wedding vendors to share their work is just incredible. The amount of energy and time she is willing to spend on this passion, is a true inspiration and we are thrilled to let you know that it has paid off.

Gaby has grown right out of her Cap Classique shoes and is now the proud owner of a beautiful new website, called SouthBound Bride. We were absolutely elated when Gaby asked us to work with her on the identity and even more so as she shared her vision of creating an identity that is truly South African, beautiful, feminine, world class. We adored working with Gaby on this and wish her only the very best for the future.

Go on, go read it, bookmark it… I know you will fall in love!

New Things

I never write personal blog posts. I try to keep the blog just about the work we do, sharing stationery, weddings and some other pretty things every now and then. But I have wanted to have a nice chat with you for a while now.

I started this Seven Swans dream of mine only a little while back actually. Seven Swans has been my full time job for less than a year and a half. Confession number two: I was doing it all by myself up to now. Admin, emails, liaising with suppliers, design, meeting clients, more design, sticking labels, packaging, proof reading… everything was just me. Luckily and by the biggest blessing, the lovely and super helpful Emma came to my rescue over the crazy wedding season. To say that I couldn’t have done it without her is the biggest understatement ever. She took over all of the finishing, quote scouting, driving and other admin tasks while I was designing for up to 7 weddings a weekend.

But I got tired. Very tired. And although my love for love will never stop burning (eek, that sounded lame…but it is true!) I felt I was slowly starting to run very low on creative juices. Then 2 things happened and actually that is what this post is all about:

1) My always-awesome, dream team friends, welovepictures, called me up and asked if I wanted to share a studio with them. (YAY!) I yelled YES! So we are very excited to soon be moving in to the (renovation busy as we speak) Woodstock Industrial Centre, Albert Road. I can’t wait to have clients over to our little creative space, to sip some tea while looking over at Lion’s Head and chatting about your special day. Flippen’ can’t wait!!
2) I am so proud to announce that the new addition to my team fits Seven Swans like a glove. Ella is not only ever-smiling with a heart of gold, she is also killer when it comes to illustration and design. We can’t wait to show off what she has been up to the past month!

I am so excited to announce that with a second pair of hands we will be able to bring you even more of what you have been loving the last year and a half. We have some awesomeness up our sleeves, Ella and I! With new avenues to explore (think hand written fonts, calligraphy, bespoke illustration and patterns) and pretty soon, a new inspiring space for you to come visit!

Hope to see you in our Woodstock studio real soon!

xx

Swan Wedding in Sarie Bruid!

We are over the moon, tickled pink, and doing hip hip hoorays and happy dances, over at the Seven Swans studio! Having our very own Swan Wedding featured in the Sarie Bruid must be the biggest wedding high five anyone can give and credit to all our loved ones who made this special day happen.

Thank you to our lovely friends (who look like rock stars on the cover!) welovepictures for taking killer pics and for sending them through to Sarie Bruid. Thank you Marguerite van Wyk for the lovely article. If you want to read a bit more about our special day, head on over to Cap Classique.

xx
