I am a grey-junkie; almost all of the walls inside our apartment are painted grey, I have a multitude of grey throws and blankets and my default throw-on outfit is usually grey. I just love it!
I love it because when you subtract colour, suddenly the other design elements matter so much more. Space, texture, line and contrast comes to life in a way that makes my toes curl. Hope these images make you love it just as much.

Generally I am a less is more kinda girl…but every now and then I fell right back in love with pretty pinks, romantic bunches of peonies, and pastels that make you smile from ear to ear. Don’t you want to sit under this gorgeous umbrella with me and sip pink lemonade?

Confession time: I do not like purple. I know this doesn’t sound at all gasp-worthy, but only someone in the wedding industry will know how much wedding people work with purple. It is the wedding world truth that trends will come and go, but purple and wedding just goes hand in hand.

What restraint. Simplicity. It reminds me that the small things are really the big things and makes me want to sigh a simple sigh of pleasure and relief.
What it also made me want to do is bring back one of my favourite kind of blog posts. In the very beginning of our Seven Swans world I adored creating these moodboards. Now we are bringing them back and we are more than excited!
In South Africa it is full on Autumn and we find ourselves rather jealous with all the Northern Hemisphere wedding bloggers bragging about Spring. Well, we got our own back with this Swan Love mood board filled to the brim with floral goodness!

At Seven Swans we love the colour teal and all colours even remotely close or related to teal. When we saw Gielie and Ilana’s wedding photographed by the amazing Lizelle Lotter (man, can she capture LOVE) with stunning flowers in cute lace adorned tins by Vars Liefde, we just felt a Swan Love coming up. The smell of Autumn is in the air… cool mornings, oak leaves starting to colour… and here at the Seven Swans studio we are going crazy for the new season’s details.
